Student's Answers Left Teacher Frustrated But There Is A Good Reason Why

Being a teacher is the most rewarding job in my opinion. This is because you are making a difference in a student's life, you are moulding them in the right way a society would deem fit, they also make an impact in a student's life by becoming role models students look up to. The important thing is making a difference in someone's life, what can be more rewarding than that. Then there is this story of a child providing the wrong answers to a question his teacher kept asking, but what explains the reason behind the answer is what got me giggling as this student was in fact quite bright.

Teacher: “If I gave you two cats and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Seven!”

Teacher: “No, listen carefully… If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Seven.”

Teacher: “Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Six.”

Teacher: “Good. Now if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Seven!”

Teacher: “Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!”

Johnny: “Because I've already got a freaking cat!”
